Appeals : Arbitrator Decisions : #78 - December 4, 2002
D E C I S I O N
The claimant was rejected because he had not had a blood
transfusion in the class period.
At the hearing he acknowledged that he had not been transfused
during the class period but that he had been part of an experiment
for patients diagnosed with Hepatitis C . This apparently
caused him considerable loss of time and he wondered if he
could be compensated.
Unfortunately, this program is not set up for that purpose
and the administrator's decision is therefore upheld and the
claim is denied.
DATED at Toronto, this 4th day of December, 2002.
